Window tint can feel like a highly complex subject. Well-trained salespeople can play off of emotion and partial truths to pad a sale or even make the sale in the first place. So what is the truth about window tint, and what kind of tint do you need?
WHAT WINDOW TINT TO AVOID
In many ways, it is easier to start with what you do not want. You do not wish to use dyed, hybrid, or metallic films. With one exception that has been discontinued, you do not want to use any window film that says “CS” or color stable. The reasons vary. Metallic films cause signal interference — your cell phone won’t work as well. Dyed and CS films turn purple, fade, and do not block UV rays as well.
CARBON WINDOW TINT

CERAMIC WINDOW TINT
So if carbon window tint is this good, why would anyone spend the extra money for a ceramic window tint? That is a heated debate. Literally, the main difference between carbon and ceramic window films is that ceramic films block substantially more heat. In fact, we offer ceramic films that are virtually clear and can still block over 90% of solar heat gain.
So what? Well, if you drive a Tesla and love the view but not the heat, we have an answer. If you want to be able to see out your windshield, but those long drives on I-70 into the sun . Ceramic tint blocks more heat. While all window tints can scratch, ceramic tint is more scratch resistant than others.
